A CMS For Every Scenario
We have experience with a variety of content management systems (CMSs). Each one has strengths and weaknesses for different circumstances. Our approach is to use the simplest possible tool that will accomodate the scenario to hand.
Drupal
Drupal is one of the most powerful CMS platforms available today. This robust system powers sites such as whitehouse.gov, economist.com and theonion.com. We recommend Drupal when:
- Content requires multiple stages of approval.
- Different users can access different levels of content.
- Advanced editing and content storage functionality is required.
- Dozens or hundreds of content authors are on a site.
- A website or application relies heavily on user account information
A great thing about Drupal is that it is open source, and had a vibrant community contributing modules and fixing bugs on a regular basis.
WordPress
Currently the most popular CMS available, WordPress is the tool of choice for simple websites. This is a simple system that revolves around the idea of a blog. We use WordPress for:
- Simple content management needs
- A small number of authors are making changes to a website
- Any blog-centric website
Similar to Drupal, WordPress is also open source and has a community of thousands of developers actively contributing to the system.
Interspire
Interspire Cart is a system that is geared around e-commerce, but has content management capabilities as well. Interspire is used when:
- A site is largely e-commerce focused
- Content management needs are simple
Design Flexibility / Designer Friendly
We love working with designers, in fact, the majority of our projects are done in partnership with designers and design agencies. Each of the CMSs above can accommodate an enormous variation of design. We work with our design partners throughout the design process to consult as to what is possible.
